This video is beyond beautiful and I am left speechless. How many people besides Michael Fishbach (the narrator/savior in this video) can say they directly saved a Humpback whale with their bare hands? Wow.

Inquisitive Humpback Whales

Some whale watchers off the coast of Australia were pleasantly surprised as a Humpback approached their boat for a peek of their own. The beautiful animal approached a idle boat and studied its occupants for a brief period of time.

Apparently boaters approaching a whale to within 100 meters can be fined $110,000 and spend two years in jail. But whale watching organizers suggest boaters turn of their engines and wait for the whales to come to them. For two lucky watchers a humpback did just that.

The video mentions that the approach was further proof of estimated numbers of growth for Humpbacks. Yes, growth, which reported by Sky News is estimated at 10% per year right now.
